Feeling Lazy

For some reason I have been feeling like this piggy...just a little bit lazy.

And although I did manage to get a new Fall Header made, it seems to have taken all of my creative energy and I don't have anything else that interesting to share with you today.

About the photo...I took it in France last spring while at Château de Guédelon, a medieval castle being built today using 13th century materials and techniques. I have been looking for the opportunity to use it ~ I just think it is so cute. I love pigs and you must admit, they certainly seem to know how to relax!

How about you...do you have days like this when ambition seems to wane and just doing nothing is very appealing?

  1. Cold rainy days make me want to cocoon in the house wearing cozy cashmere, sipping tea and reading a good book.
I am with you in spirit!

  4. Hello Adrienne:
To create a new header such as yours would certainly drain every ounce of our creative talent as we should have no clue as to how to go about it. It is wonderful and captures perfectly the spirit of the season!!

  7. OMGosh - I have a complete set of the dishes in your header. Want to know where they came from? Sure you do!

Those plates were given away by a pharmacy in St. Paul, MN - one plate for every $10.00 spent. The pharmacy was located on the first floor of a large doctors building. My mother worked for some of the doctors. This was before I was born so it was about 1944, or so. The plates blended well with my mother's Noritake so she wanted them - a lot of them.

So she got the docs to write a check for what they owed the pharmacy which was a fairly large amount of money and delivered it. You hear it coming, don't you? She requested her plates - 15 or so of them. The pharmacy spluttered but knew it was useless to argue with my mom. I have all those plates now.

I completed the set with a mother lode of bread plates, platters, and cups and saucers scarfed up at the Goodwill about 15 years ago for about $20.00.

Anyhoo - back to the original question...

do you have days like this when ambition seems to wane and just doing nothing is very appealing?

    How about months?

  8. Beautiful header (as always you find the most romantic vignettes that capture the season). Who knew that a pig could be so romantic...it's the line about the medieval castle that has me completely smitten. I'm definitely wanting to be lazy but barely staying two steps ahead of work and the girls. Smile.

  16. Your headers are always so beautiful! Wow, a lot of people I've run into, including me, are feeling the same way...uncreative. What's up with that? But at least it's good to know others experience the same from time to time. The piggy is very cute!

  19. I love French piggies and this one certainly is enjoying the muddy bed!
My family live in the south of France and I've noticed, when visiting, pig farming blends in comfortably alongside the vineyards surrounding their village.

Love everything Autumn in your beautiful banner - are you knitting something special?

Happy weekend - nice to meet you via Claudia - and hope to see you back on Reality Shot next week.

    Mary ~
