Roses, Napkins, China and Fond Memories ~

Hello everyone, it is good to be back.

I love white napkins, a while back I bought a dozen gorgeous restaurant quality napkins and I have enjoyed using them. But, last week when I wandered into Marshall's after shopping at the nearby Trader Joe's (aren't I lucky to have two such great stores side-by-side). I found these great white, lace trimmed cotton napkins...

...they called me over and then jumped into my cart saying, " You need us, take us home".

Well, what could I do? I mean really...white, a great size, and lace.

I can hardly wait to invite someone over for dinner so I can use them.

The dishes I have paired them with are from my Aunt Lolly who I have mentioned here before. They are the Rosette pattern from Fiji China. Over the years I have eaten many wonderful meals off of them; she was a fantastic cook.  I feel so lucky to have them now in my home.

Roses, lace, lovely china, and fond memories, can anyone ask for more.

Have a happy day and thank you for visiting.

  1. Oh those are really beautiful and they look like they could be heirloom linens. Had I been there I'd have had to buy some too.
Lovely roses and such pretty china.
I am glad that you are back online Adrienne, it was only this afternoon that i wondered why you had not been posting. I hope all is well.

  2. They're beautiful!

And with that pretty tea cup, well, buy some fast store bought sweets, put them on a pretty plate and invite a friend over for tea to use those napkins - no need to wait for the time and energy of a dinner!!!! ☺

    Very beautiful post!

  3. Your vignette is beautiful. I love both the dishes and the napkins. Whoever you invite to dinner when you set up a table with these things will be very lucky to enjoy so many pretty things. Thanks for sharing them with us.

  4. I haven't seen such pretty napkins that weren't vintage! I wish Marshall's had "standard" inventory and I could go buy some. They are so pretty with your lovely china. What a nice connection with your Aunt!

  5. Those napkins are pretty, but I wouldn't wait to use them! I use pretty cloth napkins everyday...because Don and I deserve them...and so do you!!! Have a great day!!

  8. Hello Adrienne:
How lovely to have you back once more and we do hope that you have enjoyed a restful break. Your napkins are wonderful. One can never beat white, in our view, and it is always good to have them of a large size. And, of course, your china is so very, very pretty and makes for a perfect summer picture.

  9. Beautiful! I love white napkins, especially when they sre trimmed with lace.

  10. WElcome back, I've truly missed your special view on the world.

And, I'd save the napkins for luncheons under your gazebo.

  19. That is just so pretty. The good stuff always find those who will most cherish it, I think. Those napkins knew what they were doing. Thanks for coming by Quirky Vistas and leaving me a nice comment. That's how I found you and I'm glad I did. I'm now following your sweet blog.

  20. So nice to see that people with good taste still appreciate the finer objects of a bygone age! It is sad when family members give away or sell cherished family items such as dishes. Your dishes with memories of fabulous family meals cannot be duplicated!

  21. I love white napkins too, and your new ones are really pretty. I can't believe you found them at an outlet store... You are indeed lucky to have such wonderful stores close by. Beautiful Post!

  22. The white napkins are very lovely and perfect with your beautiful rose china. They are too pretty to be put away so I hope you use them both often. I love the wonderful connection of the china with your aunt...that makes it extra special.
I also love your beautiful David Austin rose! So lovely to have you back.
