Oh, the beautiful glories of Autumn!
Liquidamber trees bring wonderful fall color to our warm Southern California gardens. They are also used as street trees and you can imagine how amazing that looks. This one shades a little sitting area along my driveway. Every year I look forward to this display, when like a lovely lady it puts on it jewels to come to the party and I can sit at my computer and gaze out on it.
The world is filled with so much beauty; we are very lucky.
Thank you for visiting, I hope you have a wonderful day. Come back soon.
Such stunning color! I would love that view!
ReplyDeleteI love my liquidambar too, and selected it primarily for the fall color I get to see from my kitchen window. Yours is so lovely, and what a nice little spot you've created there!
ReplyDeleteYour colors are just stunning. Our mini version of Sandy blew the last of our leaves off the trees. Yardwork awaits this weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat's so sweet. Made my day.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful day in your garden today...
ReplyDeleteliquidamber is a great name for a tree!
What beautiful fall colors and a lovely spot to sit. Fall is my favorite season but our colors are all gone now.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice place to sit and relax!
ReplyDeleteHello Adrienne:
ReplyDeleteWe do so agree with you about the absolute beauty of the Liquidamber. In our Herefordshire garden we had a specimen which, as with yours, rewarded us each autumn with the most glorious colour.
Fall is my favorite time of the year. I love it when the trees are ablaze with color. Now, I look out the window of this second story condo and see most of these Midwest trees are now bare...the ground carefully cleared of any little golden jewel left behind. I hear stories of a "hard winter" coming here...I'm thinking that means lots of snow. Perhaps I'd better purchase a Winter coat!
ReplyDeleteYour decorating continues to amaze me. I'm sure my mom will get some enjoyment from it also... she always drops me a line when she visits your blog. Your Mr TOM Turkey looks marvelous strutting his stuff.
ReplyDeleteHi Adrienne,
ReplyDeleteWOW! I can't believe how lovely those images are!!! You truly capture the beauty of the season perfectly! I'm already thinking about Xmas! lol Before you know it, Thanksgiving will be here in less than 2 weeks, so Xmas follows soon after!!! :) Wishing you a lovely day!
Hugs,
Jessie
What a beautiful sight! I'd love to be able to sit and gaze at that view too :)
ReplyDeleteI love liquidamber trees and had one in our yard when we lived in California. There are some perks to living in a cold and snowy state and one of them is the bulbs that we plant once and just leave year after year. Makes for a gorgeous spring display. Mimi
ReplyDeleteI've so missed visiting you Adrienne-you always have the most lovely photos of your garden and home! I'm hoping you are very well and thought I would stop by to gander a little at the lovely fall colors and of course, invite you if you feel like it to join us with Weekword at my blog. Our word this week is library and it just made me think of how different your take would likely be than mine (much much prettier for sure!) Wishing you well and I'll do my best to not be gone so long :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Here the winds have carried off all the fall leaves and the trees are now bare. I see you have bought lots of spring bulbs. I still have loads to plant myself and I am well north of you. I am going to pay for my tardiness with frozen fingers.
