Every year in February my magnolia trees start out the month leafless; the flower buds just starting to form...
...at first there isn't much to see, quickly this magically changes until the trees are covered with the fuzzy buds waiting to unfold...
...in all their magnificent beauty!
Then for a few weeks they light up the late winter landscape with their flowers while the new leaves gradually appear.
This is an expected pleasure, but my, such a wondrous one!
I hope your garden is filled with expected pleasures, especially as Spring grows near.

They are gorgeous trees with lovely flowers for sure! I spent the day working chopping down dead stuff. Now I know it will freeze again. I just couldn't stand looking at it any longer. Depressing it was. Tired I am. But love looking at your photos!

I just love these trees! Actually any tree that tells me spring is here!!!

Oh my goodness! Is that what your tree looks like right now?? I am envious. Tell me, can you really sit out in your chair already? This makes me anxious for spring:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my better blog post... I am enjoying everyones comments and hope to do a little compiling this week:) I think you, my friend, are doing a fabulous job in your beautiful and romantic corner of the world!
My grandparents had the most beautiful magnolia tree in their front lawn. Your tree brings back wonderful memories. Our blizzard continues this evening. Your spring pictures are inspiring.
ReplyDeleteI see a beautiful painting just waiting for your brush in these pictures!
ReplyDeleteI love those magnolias, and they show their beauty so early in the year! That came as a surprise for me when I moved here. Your pictures are pogeous, I especially like the one with the chair. I'd love to sit there, sip some coffee and get lost in a book.
ReplyDeleteWell, I meant "gorgeous", not pogeous! My fingers were faster than my brain...
ReplyDeleteWe are a bit behind you, but the promise is there - on the rose canes and forsythia branches. I can see it coming!
ReplyDeleteYour magnolia and your photos of it are STUNNING! The beauty of the magnolia is so fleeting and I am always in awe of it!

And that is how the forsythia blooms here. I wish that a magnolia would think this zone were a good place for blooming. I love your cozy garden scenes.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Adrienne Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteOh what a fragrant post this morning. I love the magnolia trees. They are so elegant, and their dance is so beautiful how they gradually perform in to a full bloom. The dance of LOVE.
I could bring my book, curl up in that chair with the quilt and spend my morning beneath the tree of LOVE just reading away. Thank you SO much for sharing with me sweet friend.
Many hugs and much love, Sherry
Your photos and collage are absolutely beautiful! The photo of the chair is magazine worthy!

There is a tree, right around the corner, which I believed was a Magnolia tree. Now I see it is!! It is the exact same tree as in your pictures, only that one around the corner is not well taken care of. Sad. It is a beautiful flower. Yours is absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeletehave a lovely day!
Spring's not here yet in the midwest - I'm hoping!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous trees in bloom. Things are starting to bud out here, but Easter late, I am afraid they will get too cold and never bloom.
ReplyDeleteAmazing!!! So lovely pictures!
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday!

Love these Magnolias! There's one between mine and my neighbors house - there's quite a few lining the drive at the college my children went to - they're breathtaking - Happy Pink Saturday,
ReplyDeleteKathy
I love these early blooming magnolias - I think they are funny with their big bold flowers, naked with no leaves. The show-stopper of the season, for sure
ReplyDeleteOh I love them! The first sign of spring! Please go and see - I posted pictures of my tree as well! Jennifer Grenko

Oh my, Adrienne! Not only is your magnolia tree gorgeous, but the vignette you created is worthy of a magazine! I can't wait for spring to SPRING around here. I'm starting to see buds on the trees and the daffodils are beginning to bloom - finally!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to the party. The beautiful vignettes you share are always a breath of fresh air to me. "Funny Faux Pas Follies" starts this Friday, and I would love to have you join me for that party, as well.
