I finally found them at Crown City Hardware, a store in Pasadena, California that specializes in reproductions for vintage home restorations. They have a catalogue for any of you that are looking for difficult to find items for older homes.
When I got home and really looked at these I realized just how pretty they were and really of much better quality than those at the big box stores. They have a 'jewel like' appearance that catches the light.
In fact I found them so attractive that I thought they deserved their own photo-shoot.
Today I got out my drill and installed them in the doors, they add just the understated sparkle I was looking for...I guess all in all it was worth the wait.
Thank you for visiting me. I hope you have a little sparkle in your day.

ReplyDeleteHello Adrienne:
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right that, finally, it is all in the detail something which too often is overlooked for whatever reason, usually on account of cutting corners to finish a project. How sensible you were to have waited and patiently researched to find exactly what you had in mind. These glass and brass knobs are lovely and will, we are certain, continue to give pleasure for years to come.
They are completely perfect and definitely photo worthy. Have a beautiful weekend admiring all your gorgeous handy work.
ReplyDeleteOh! Those are just perfect. How beautiful.

I love glass knobs and actually used them on our living room built in book cases. I also had a hard time finding exactly what I needed and had to order them. Next time I'm in Pasadena I'll check out that hardware store...I love a good hardware store! Your photos are beautiful and your little jewels look wonderful on your doors.
ReplyDeleteworth the wait... sparkly magic for your doors! love the tassel. Have a great weekend,,, are you planning Thanksgiving or will you go to Heather's?
ReplyDeleteYour glass knobs were worth the trip to Pasadena! They are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI agree that those sweet knobs were worth waiting for...they look like crystal. Pasadena is a wonderful place to find vintage goods. What with Bungalow Heaven and all the renovations going on it seems like they have a captive audience.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!
