Since the anticipated demise of Picnik I have been trying to develop my skills using Photoshop. I have found it challenging but hope that if I can just keep plugging away I will eventually master it; I just wish that the program was a bit more 'user-friendly'. Meanwhile, I have been experimenting with some of the other on line editors. I had lots of fun on Pixlr Express with this photo that I took a while back of pansies on the window ledge in my entry hall.
Pixlr Express has some really good features: easy-peasy to use, some great filters, quick transfers to browser and fun techniques, including a great focal feature and tons of frames and borders. If you haven't tried it out I encourage you to do so.
With this next picture I just clicked on Pixlr Vintage Effects. I really don't think I would use this very often, but once in a while just to mix things up it will be fun...after all isn't that what blogging is all about.

Pretty wild don't you think?
Thank you for stopping by to visit, I hope you have a 'picture perfect' day.

Thanks for demonstrating the other features of Pixlr... I've been practicing too! lovely pansies.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely - and if it's not too complicated, this new site might be for me. Thank you for the tip.
ReplyDeleteHello Adrienne:
ReplyDeleteAs the Luddites which we are, we can confess that we have only just mastered the art of actually taking a picture on a camera. And, we have to say, not a great picture at that. We are in awe of your skills with these programmes which really do take capturing an image to another level.
Great job! I never do anything with my pictures...one day maybe...when I find some time!! Yours look great! Have a wonderul weekend!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing some of the features of Pixlr. I love the first picture. I'm going to have to try it. I've just been using Picasa but it doesn't have all the features I would like. I have Photoshop Elements on my computer but haven't had time to play with it.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
I'm not familiar with Pixlr -- I'm not familiar with it, but I'll check it out. Keep plugging away at Photoshop -- it's a pretty steep learning curve, but it's worth it. Beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post-processing.
ReplyDeleteRegards and best wishes
Another free program to play with. Thanks for sharing. I did found out that picnik is now part of google plus. It doesn't have all it's features but it is there. Gorgeous pansies. Have a beautiful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI am too chicken to try anything.
ReplyDeleteLike what you did with your play on pansies - so neat!
Muito lindo, leve e fresco! Uma maravilha!
ReplyDeleteNow I don't really know much about these things, BUT I just read Becky's post from Farmgirl Paints and she is saying that there is a new place to edit photos called Picmonkey...I think it's Picmonkey.com. I've never used Picnic or any of those things because I'm too chicken but you might be interested. I hope it works for you.
ReplyDeleteLooks like I'm going to need to find a new Piknik too. Let us know which one you like best. Mimi
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Pixlr Express, but I use Photoshop anyway, so I guess it doesn't really matter. Hope you have a good week :)
ReplyDeleteI have got to give Pixlr Express a try. I love the "wild" photo!
ReplyDeleteYour pansies are so sweet. Love pansies! I have PhotoShop but haven't started to work with it yet. I think I should jump in and give it a try. I love what I see that others have accomplished. Think I'll be brave!
ReplyDelete~Adrienne~
I was just thinking about pansies today...love them for the early spring. I usually use Photobucket to edit my pictures. It's okay.....I might give Pixir Express a try.
ReplyDeleteMarianne :)
Your pansies are beautiful! Thanks for your tip on using Pixir Express.

Love the flowers. I am such a novice with all these advanced photo techniques, I need to look into them. Well done!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers and nice pics!
