This little slipper chair belonged to my Mother. It was always in her bedroom and as a very small child I remember playing dress-up with some of her old gowns and teetering around the house in a pair of her high-heeled shoes dragging trains of fabric behind me.
Now the chair has come to me and last week I placed it in my dressing room. It has been reupholstered many times but is now the perfect pale pink, watered taffeta, to fit in perfectly.
It is called a slipper chair because it is very low to the ground, the perfect place for a lady to sit when putting on or taking off her shoes.
I am dedicating this post to my Mother, an amazing and wonderful women and always the loveliest in the room.
It is so nice to have something that brings back memories of childhood and the nostalgic thoughts of loving parents. I hope you have something like this too.
What a beautiful piece and the memories it brings are priceless! Perfect spot for it in the dressing room.
