A bit of an impasse ~

I have a bit of a problem with the guest room, unfortunately the fabric I picked out that would have been perfect has been discontinued. So now I am trying to find a replacement and until I do I can't paint the walls. Darn!

As you see below, I do have some other choices and I also have a couple more fabric samples on the way. I am one of those people that needs an inspiration piece to build a room around and it is usually the fabric.

While I am waiting I was at least able to get the new molding and trim painted. It has been so hot here that I had to do it very early in the morning to keep the paint from sticking. I should be able to get it up over the next week. And because most of the ceiling is white I can paint that.

And...

I sent away for the new decorative ceiling corner onlays.

So even though I am at a bit of an impasse some things are getting done and while I am waiting for additional samples I might get some new inspiration from this book.

I love this author, she writes such interesting and informative books, although I haven't yet read this one I really enjoyed her previous book, The Essence of Style: How the French Invented High Fashion, Fine Food, Chic Cafes, Style, Sophistication, and Glamour.

Even without painting the walls I think I will have plenty to do this weekend.

Thank you for visiting

  1. Hello Adrienne,

If one is not sure, it is good to procrastinate for a while at least. The thoughts then do crystallise and often one ventures into a very different direction from the one which one anticipated. Whatever, your book looks as if it will provide no end of inspiration.....perhaps it will make choosing even more of a problem. But, it will be fun to sit and read!

  2. Your minutes setback will give you extra time to get things so perfect. Can't wait to see more.

  3. Your determination will stand you in good stead...it is frustrating that the fabric has been discontinued and there most certainly will be a lovely replacement arriving on your doorstep soon.
Looking forward to seeing the project when it has been completed.

  4. I love your fabric choices so far. Yep, you have to pick the fabric before the paint, even though you want to get going. I really enjoyed reading all of your blog posts, that chandelier you picked is gorgeous!

  5. Adrienne, that is so frustrating when you have something in your mind and then you can't get it. It looks like your other choices are all beautiful and whichever you pick will be exceptional. You got the hard part done already. I like painting furniture but not walls or trim..Can't wait to see how it shapes up..Happy Tuesday..Judy. Hope you cool down a bit soon.

  6. I know, I'm so impatient when I have a project in mind, it's so hard to wait. But I know you will choose something amazing, and it will all be beautiful. Can't wait to see!

  7. It's hard to be stymied when one has the inspiration and the energy for a project. I'm confident, though, that you will find something equally beautiful - and especially something that touches you like the other pattern did.
