The Living Room Tree

This year I decided to try something new with the tree in the living room. At first I was just going to use all of my cranberry colored ornaments and then realized that it needed a little something more, so I combined cranberry and gold.  I used lots of cranberry colored ribbon. and this beautiful pale yellow tulle with metallic gold detail I found on a sale at JoAnnes; I just cut the fabric into long strips and tucked it in amongst the branches. I had the icicle garland and the crystal garland. The tree topper is a simple bow. Under the tree I set my rocking horse and a doll in a high chair, both gifts from Santa to my daughter years ago. And some packages of course. For the past few years I have used this smaller tree instead a big one, it is just so much easier for me to set up and I don't have to move any furniture, but who knows maybe next year I will bring back the floor to ceiling tree. In fact I am already thinking pink and pale green...

...and As Santa said, 'ere he rode out of sight, "Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night".

  1. Very Pretty ! I have always liked the look of a smaller tree on a table, used to do that when my kids were small to keep them away from the ornaments. Love it.

  3. Adrienne,

How did you learn to decorate the way you do? It really is something else. I was thinking about your candy display yesterday and how it made me feel like I was a little girl again, peering into a department store's window. You are so talented!

  11. Small tree...what a great idea!! Mine are big ones, and while I love the work they require, it's too tiring!! A small tree is a good idea. To put it on a table, even a better idea!! I love how yours is, and the way you decorated the entire corner. It's really lovely.
    have a jolly day!!

  12. You have the neatest set up there. I love the colors you've used and the gold ribbon adds so much festive charm. Your rocking horse is stunning. (I read your story about the rocking horse) Liked how you were peeping at us in the gold bulb as you were taking pics.
