Simple pleasures, one of life's joys. Today my simple pleasure is this old stained glass window hanging amongst the roses. I love glimpsing it throughout the day as the light changes in the colored glass and it gently sways in the breeze.
What was your simple pleasure today?

Hello Adrienne:
ReplyDeleteThe play of light on coloured glass can be quite enchanting and magical. Your stained glass window looks to have given you much enjoyment in the day when, we are certain, that at every look a different pattern is produced.
Only recently we met an artist whose work is almost wholly concerned with the restoration and renewal of Victorian stained glass. Your post today reminded us of her and her marvellous kaleidoscopes.
My simple pleasure is the soft scent that lingers from the soap that I have used in my bath this morning....
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying the images on the header...your pink roses are so pretty.
Oh Adrienne! What a darling post, j'adore that old stained window you have hanging with the roses. Let's see, today's simple pleasure pour moi - smelling the sweet scent of jasmine vine growing around my front arbor.

That is a lovely simple pleasure.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful window. What a romantic touch in your garden!! My mother used to make stained glass creations and I was always in awe of how much work and time went into them. Whipped cream in my coffee before work was my simple pleasure this morning.
ReplyDeleteMy simple pleasure was my morning coffee. As it is every day after a bowl of cereal. I have a stained glass window and haven't ever hung it up. Or if I have, have long forgotten. I would love to see the glints of sunlight through it.

ReplyDeleteIt is very lovely among your roses. I have a very large one and it hangs on my patio facing west. It looks so beautiful as the sun is setting

After trying for days to leave a comment ,I did a post to ask what was wrong. I think I have it fixed. I love all your roses, and the photo of the stained glass is beautiful. Kathy
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous stained glass window. The softness around it really brings out the detail and colors.
ReplyDeleteThe spill of color in my new container gardens...LOVE that vintage window.
ReplyDeleteHow cool to have a glass stained window hanging among your roses. Such a beautiful idea, it looks interesting and lovely.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely, lovely question. I will have to go with a calico cat I spotted in someone's yard as I stopped across the street to get the mail. She lifted her head more or less alert at my approach but as I whispered at her to go back to relaxing through the windshield, she did just that. She looked so languid and at rest, half-closed eyes like milky jade.
ReplyDeleteI like stained glass. My parents used to collect it when I was growing up. Have you ever made your own pieces?
ReplyDeleteI think having a nice pot of tea on a rainy cold day has been my simple pleasure lately. That and cuddling with my doggies.
thought you should know!!! my mom has figured out how to follow the blogs listed on my blog! she loves checking out your garden - perhaps someday we'll actually get all of us together for a cuppa tea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful stained glass window... I too enjoy my stained glass windows and watching how the light shines through the colors and textures of them. Your Photograph is lovely!

Your window is beautiful! I have one that hangs on one of the sliding doors in my dining room. It brings such joy every time the light shines through. Thank you for sharing yours. What a treasure!

The stained glass looks so charming amongst the roses. With your editing enhancements, the image looks worthy of a frame.
