Le Marché ~

With a playful kitten scampering on every surface...so far the list of broken objects has been limited to one tea cup...

I thought it would be prudent for a while not to put out any fragile or valuable things on my shelf under the kitchen window ~ It is too easily reached.

So I gathered together some faux fruits and vegetables, baskets, and a little lace of course, and created a little market stall...le marché.

There is nothing here that can be broken or ruined by falling on the tile floor. 

And it is kind of a fun summer addition to the kitchen.

The funny thing is, is that now that I have temporarily taken away all the the breakables from her reach, Miss Twiggley hasn't shown the slightest interest in visiting this space again!

Kittens! Go figure.

A Change in the Garden ~

This is the way that my big border in front of the house looks like now...

But last winter it was a different story. After I finished pruning and cleaning up I decided to add a path through the middle of the border. For years it has been a challenge to get inside, and under all of these plants to weed and deadhead. Here you see it with the weed barrier laid and the rock borders added awaiting the gravel. It  looks pretty sparse.

Putting in the path did necessitate removing some of the plants, and I was concerned that it wouldn't look as good. But now that it has filled in, I can hardly tell the difference!

And now!

I am so glad that I did this, it has made it so much easier to tend and it is fun to walk down the little path and see some of the new plantings. Plus, my poor arms and legs appreciate not getting so scratched up!

I love it when change turn out to be a good thing.

Raleigh ~

Today is Raleigh's birthday.

We miss him so much...Goodnight Sweet Prince.

Just Because She's so Cute ~

I don't know how they do it, but cats seem to pick places to be where they looks their absolute best. After bouncing around chasing ping pond balls,  playing chase, and getting into mischief, Miss Twiggley loves to rest in this Moroccan dish on the coffee table in the family room where the colors complement her perfectly.

I love how she crosses her little paws, Mozart did that too

We took a trip to the veterinarian yesterday where she is a big hit ~ she spent most of the exam trying to play with the doctor's stethoscope. She got her shots... poor baby, and was weighed ~ at 12 weeks she hit the scale at 2.7 pounds, I think she is going to be a dainty little miss.

delicious sweet treats...

the home of kings...

wonderful architecture...

and beguiling little shops.

I have been dreaming of France!

It was last year about this time that I went to France with my granddaughter Zoe, it was a wonderful trip and although we saw a lot there is always more to see, I hope to return sometime soon, but until then I have my memories and I can always ~ Dream of France.
