The very last Hydrangeas ~

Early this morning after I came back from walking I went out in the garden and  cut the very last of the Hydrangeas to bring in the house for drying.

It has been so hot here the past week with temperatures over 100 degrees every day that it is surprising that there were any of them left in good enough condition to cut.

I plan on using these throughout the fall in autumnal arrangements. I think they will look pretty in the
new wooden box that I made combined with white pumpkins. Meanwhile, as they dry they look nice in this wire basket in the kitchen.

Thankfully it is cooling off a bit, it is very difficult to think about Fall decorations when it is so, so hot! I am longing for cooler weather and rain.

Thank you for visiting, I hope you have a wonderful day

  5. Well yes, I have been hearing about how hot it is your way! Wishing for some lovely rain for you!

I love your hydrangeas! They don't grow here, and I was lucky enough to have some dried ones sent from Santa Barbara last year.

You have a beautiful decorating project going! It's so frustrating to invest so much time picking out the perfect fabric only to find that it is unavailable! But I'm sure it will all come together for you and your elegant style.

  6. Adrienne, your hydrangeas are gorgeous and one of my favorite flowers!
The weather is fickle here. It cooled off for about a week and the heat and humidity set back in!
I do need to find some gorgeous mums for my wire planters in front!

  7. We had a hot week as well, but not as hot as in your area. And then it rained a little bit - such bliss!
I love your hydrangeas, and you inspired me to cut mine as well and bring them inside.
