Now Where Did I Put That!

When I put out the holiday decorations I store away most of the other decor items, some of them are too large to loose but at the spur of the moment I always seem to put some of the smaller items away for safekeeping in some strange, weird, place and then after Christmas I am forced to play the game...Now Where Did I Put That! One year it took me a couple of months to find my pair of Staffordshire poodles and they certainly aren't little! This year it was some birds that I usually keep in the entry hall. Are you ready to play along with me? Now where did I put that...

Well, they are certainly not in here...

and definitely no more room in here, although here are all the plate stands and the plates; I will have to remember this.

No, nothing here but art and sewing supplies...

Wow...totally empty

..nothing up here but some cobwebs, and  boxes of old documents

craft supplies, but no little bird figures...now where did I put those! This is really getting frustrating...one more place to look.

Aha...here they are! Now doesn't it make perfect sense that I would have put them in with some of my lingerie, but of course, silly me.

I hope that I am not the only one that does this...do you ever play this game after the holidays?

  1. I do this all the time. Sometimes I never do find what I am looking for.....now how does that happen. Glad we aren't alone in this problem.

  2. I do this thing where I say to myself, "I'm going to put this really important thingamajig 'here' so I don't forget about it" and then I forget about it. It's very annoying!

    P.S. Those birdies are darling.

  3. ohhh more than I would want to! I will be taking down and storing Christmas over the weekend, and giving my home the "usual", and hopefully a more refreshing, look. Last year was a tablecloth, I wonder what will it take me days, if not months, to find this time! :o)
    glad you find your birds!
    have a lovely day.

  4. The perfect place! Birds always love elegant lace . For my part, I can not remember when I stored a little summer painting and a porcelain cat!!

  7. oh my gosh! love this! I usually buy little presents (on sale!) and save them for those times you need a hostess gift or are invited to a bday party at the last minute... I totally forget where the gifts are "hidden"... urrghh!

  8. Adrienne - that is hilarious!

I'm the master at losing stuff and I go completely "off the rails" when it happens - soooooooooooo - I've gotten in the habit of writing down in the back of my control journal (see FlyLady) where I put stuff.

  9. I'm doing the same thing today! Looking for those illusive little things that mysteriously disappeared at the same time the Christmas decorations showed up. Think I have an idea but need to go into the C-O-L-D garage to check. Heading for my coat and shoes to see if I've solved the mystery!

  11. Hee! hee! You are funny! :) I play this game all year long, not just after Christmas! It can drive you quite batty!

  12. I don't play this game after the holidays but throughout the year. I put something in a "safe" place - which is a sure way to never find it again (or after a very long time). Drives me crazy, and runs in the family. Ugh!

  13. Oh, that's too funny. I will "hide" something in the perfect spot that's not so perfect when I can't remember where it is! Your little birds were something worth looking for, for sure!

  14. I'm pretty organized, but this year I spent forever looking for some ornaments that I had bought at an after Christmas sale last year. The were in a bag right in front of my face, the whole time :)

  21. Oh, so funny. After having played that game in years past, I try to put the stuff in the boxes that the Christmas decorations came out of. For example, I have a ton of old Christmas photos that I put out once a year. I need to stow all of the photos that are usually out, so they go in the box for Christmas. Things aren't always in a logical Christmas box, but I can't put the Christmas stuff in it's box until I take out what I needed to stow. My new last minute stashing place (like 30 minutes before everyone was to arrive for Christmas Eve) was on top of my washer and dryer. I knew for sure I wasn't going to be doing any laundry on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day! LOL!

  22. I wish I could say that I never have to play that game, Adrienne. Unfortunately, I seem to be playing it more frequently every day. ;) I'm glad you found your pretty little birds - all safe and snug with your lingerie.

Thanks for linking to the party.
