Plaisirs Simples ~ Wall Plaque

I made this plaque for my front porch a few months ago in my pottery class but just got around to adding the gilt trim. Rose Arbors of course is the name of my house. I seem to be prone in attempting clay projects that have difficulties attached; this time it was the size of the piece and trying to keep it from cracking during firing.
But it is done now and my wonderful son-in-law McGyver Man from http://loveandlifeatleadora.blogspot.com/ stopped by on Friday and hung it for me.

Just in case you were wondering the flowers were easy to make but the letters were very time consuming and difficult. All in all I am pleased...now on to something new!

    Your wall plaque is very pretty and complements the colouring of your window trim beautifully. How clever of you to have made it as it looks to be highly complicated and fiddly. But well done and perhaps you might now attempt another pottery project?

    It's a beautiful plaque. The colors are stunning. The letters just pop against the background. I want to create a plague for the girls treehouse. We've decided on a nickname for the treehouse and now I need to get creative with constructing a plaque. Thank you for the inspiration!

    Your plaque is beautiful! I especially like how the roses just seem to jump out at you because of the black background. The words look fantastic! You did a great job.
