A bit of this and that ~

Morning yoga class...an excellent way to start the day.

A stop at the library on the way home. I was lucky to find some very interesting new books, including Maeve Binchy's last novel, I will miss her wonderful books they are always such a joy to read.

A quick detour to the nursery for some summer annuals to perk up the garden: Rudeckia's and a little, ground Morning Glory that charmingly trails and is wonderful for edging borders.

Then, some sewing. This dress is so easy to make and turns out so well it is almost sinful. Just four seams and some bias edging, out of knit fabric it is very comfortable in the hot weather; great to slip on while running errands.

All in all a rather nice way to spend a day. I hope you had a productive and happy day too.

  2. I really like the dress pattern. It looks so comfortable and cool. Sounds like your day was very busy.
I am kinda a lazy bum when the weather is hot and humid. Try to get everything done early.
Have a great week. Show us the dress when finished.

  5. What a nice day! A little bit of everything! I love that pattern. You've inspired me - I need to get busy and make a dress like that and find a little light-weight sweater or jacket to go with it for my niece's wedding next month. Thank you for sharing your day - and for the inspiration!

    1. Depending on the fabric this dress could be made for any occasion and you could also make the wrap ~ it's easy too!

  6. If only we could bottle a day like this one and bring it out in November or February!

  7. Oh... Your day sounded lovely! I went to the office to unpack & organize our lending library. Of course I had maintenance guys move the furniture (yay!) & all the boxes of stuff. Fortunately my colleague was supportive in leaving the entire task to me! So I got to have creative reins of the project. Unfortunately, the air conditioner doesn't work well in that small room, so in addition to sorting, stacking, recycling & vacuuming, the room got rather warm. It took about 5 hours & now everyone wants to go in there. Yeah!

  8. That dress you are making looks so comfortable. My Mom made all our clothes growing up. Not sure why I never continued that tradition. Lack of free time with working outside the home I suppose. With son all grown and soon to leave the nest, I have more time to myself now. So you never know, I may one day make some dresses.
