Sometimes it works ~

Although a gardener designs an area for a certain effect it often does not live up to the wonderful vision you had in your mind: plants die, don't actually bloom when you think they will, colors turn out to be faulty, or for dozens of other reasons, it just doesn't work.

But,

this year it all came together in my street-side border...
the pink Tabebuia tree and the Chinese Fringe bush decided to cooperate.

I am delighted! this is what I had in mind when I painted the bench red.

We are actually having rain this week, and the nearby mountains are dusted with snow, another reason to be happy!

Thank you for visiting.

  2. Hello Adrienne,

You are so right about the best laid plans when it comes to gardens. Nature will always have her way, whatever our efforts. But, this planting is truly lovely and complemented perfectly by the painted seat. Yes, this is a triumph and we are sure attracts a good deal of interest from passers by.

  6. Adrienne, I think you have one of the prettiest gardens I have seen. You sure knew what you were doing with that red bench. Gorgeous. Aren't we lucky for the rain and the snow which is still too high for us but really a good sign. Hope it keeps up..Happy Wednesday..Judy
