A bit of this and that ~

After I came home from walking this morning I cut out this fabric for a new skirt. I love this soft rayon print, I think it will be nice for the winter months and combine well with so many colors.
Then I went to Trader Joe's, Marshall's is right next door and I always pop in to see if they have something new and interesting. Lucky me, they had some Colonial Candles, my favorite brand. I thought this pear fragrance would be perfect for fall.

Next on the list: Home Depot for air filters...leaving through the garden area I spotted these little six packs containing a variety of Stonecrops; succulent love! I know just where the are going...more about this on a later post.

In the afternoon, while Miss Twiggley was taking a little snooze...

...I finished my skirt!
All in all a very satisfying day. I hope you had a good day too.

  1. Sono le cose semplici che riempiono il cuore di gioia, come la tua gonna,la tua gattina e una candela profumata!A proposito io non ho mai trovato una candela al profumo di pera.Sai che buon odore di pera e poi è proprio autunnale!Ciao e buona settimana,Rosetta

  2. Pure contentment is a gift...
    Great skirt.
    Smiles, Dottie

  3. The fabric will make this skirt so very versatile!
It sounds like you had a very good day - so satisfying in many ways.

  4. Love the skirt - it will go with many different tops - good choice.
Sounds like you had a very nice day. I am hoping that we will be getting some cooler weather here so I can be more productive.
    Have a terrific week.

  5. The fabric of your skirt is just gorgeous. Sounds like the perfect day with the perfect purchases!

  6. I love the fabric in your new skirt. I need to get busy and make some skirts and tops for me. Your day was definitely productive! It's a candle-kind-of-month!

  7. I would be ecstatic to get so much done in one day! Your beautiful skirt reminds me of when I used to make many of my own clothes. It's a great way to get exactly what you want. Your candle vignette looks right out of the old Victoria magazine. So pretty! I'll have to look for those.

  8. Your skirt turned out so lovely, Adrienne!
I had to do a double, then a triple take at the
photo of your sweet cat. Oh my heavens, it looks like
a watercolor... such a dreamy shot with all the lovely
golden shades just bleeding into one another in all the right places. I want to frame it --- it's so perfect!

Sounds like a wonderful day you both had.

  9. Very nice skirt. I wish I could sew like you and I love what you do in your garden.

  10. It sure sounds like a productive day! Your skirt turned out great. I love the photo of your kitty. I had to show her to my son...he loves cats like I do :)

  11. The skirt is so cute, love the fabric! Who else turns out an outfit faster than I could shop and find one! A very productive day.
