Pampas grass,Cortaderia selloana in our climate can be a a true garden thug, but I just can't resist some of its great qualities. This plant seems to survive without any water and then in fall when little else is happening produces these wonderful, long lasting, plumes of bloom. The one you see here is a miniature variety and I was fortunate to have just the right place to put it.
This little greenhouse has been here for a long time, we bought it used and moved it on to the property. I have always thought it was very cute...and useful...the best of both worlds.

Oh my goodness! I want to see more of that amazing greenhouse. I'm continually surprised at your lovely setting. Gorgeous. Just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet greenhouse. The Great Dane made a collection of interesting windows with the intention of making a greenhouse. That is not going to happen, now, so I am in the process of getting rid of the windows. Perhaps someday I'll find a lovely little greenhouse on ebay.
ReplyDeleteI feel honoured that you share this space with us...
ReplyDeletea green house is in my dreams.
Hello Adrienne:
ReplyDeleteLike you, we have always found Pampas Grass to be something of a monster and have, in the past, cut our hands to ribbons whilst trying to remove it. But, as you say here, it is so valuable for its end of season plumes and your small variety sounds to be much more manageable.
I love the greenhouse Adrienne. Esquisite.
ReplyDeleteWe have two or three varieties of grass. I love it. It is beautiful in all seasons. And, it is even beautiful, this year, in a very hot and dry weather Summer. I love how the grass looks in snow, as well.
Our grasses are the smaller variety.
Both the greenhouse and the pampas grass are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love your footbath centerpiece too.
Have a lovely weekend,
Carolyn
Pampas grass is so beautiful. I've always wanted one of these for my yard. Your greenhouse is so charming! Hope you have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour little green house is so cute! I love that Pampas grass too. My mom is redoing the landscaping in her front yard right now and I keep telling her that she needs to get some grasses. I love how they look when they blow in the wind.
ReplyDeleteWow, that Pampas grass is amazing!
